LiveWell Finney County Newsletter – June 8, 2026

This week’s LiveWell Finney County newsletter highlights the many benefits of walking and encourages community members to take advantage of the public outdoor walking trail at CommonSpirit St. Catherine Hospital – Garden City. The newsletter also promotes the upcoming 2026 Finney County Health & Safety Fair on June 13, featuring free sports physicals, vaccines, school supplies, bike helmets, safety activities, health screenings, and opportunities to connect with local first responders and community organizations. Additionally, residents can find information about upcoming community events, including the LHEAT Meeting, Lactation Skills Fair, and Coalition Meeting.

The 2026 Summer Meal schedule is attached below. Finney County Health Department will be one of the host Grab and Go sites once again this year! Children must have a meal tag to be provided their lunch. Tags can be obtained at the USD 457 Nutrition Office now.

This week’s LiveWell Finney County Newsletter highlights several upcoming opportunities focused on improving health, well-being, and community connection across southwest Kansas. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to register for the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition’s Lactation Skills Fair on June 12 at St. Catherine Hospital, supporting stronger maternal and infant health services in our region. The newsletter also shares information about the upcoming Becoming A Mom (BAM) classes hosted by the Finney County Health Department, Mental Health Awareness Month resources, the 2026 Summer Meal Schedule, and the importance of protective factors that help support youth mental health and reduce substance misuse. Plus, organizations are invited to participate in Prevention Night at the Pool on July 29 for an evening of family fun and prevention resources.
