Just a reminder that due to the Veterans Day holiday on November 11, our LHEAT (Local Health Engagement Action Team) meeting will be held tomorrow (November 4) at noon in Classroom B at St. Catherine Hospital.
I have some updates to share on the action plans we discussed last month, and I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation and making progress on our priorities!

We’re excited to share that Finney County is participating in the National Association of Counties’ Operation Green Light program this year!
Join us on Wednesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. on the Finney County East Courthouse Lawn for a lighting ceremony honoring the service and sacrifices of our nation’s veterans.
Through Operation Green Light, we’re showing our support for veterans and their families by shining a green light in recognition of all they have given in service to our country.
We invite our community to join us as we come together to honor those who have served.

Masonic Cancer Alliance, the outreach network of The University of Kansas Cancer Center, in collaboration with Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Kansas Cancer Partnership, invites you to join them for the kickoff of our 2026-2027 Cancer Screening and Prevention in Action webinar series. Each session will highlight a different cancer or cancer-related issue and provide the most current guidance and evidence-based practices around screening and prevention. The series is geared toward a primary care, public health, and community audience.
The first session, "Breast Cancer Risk Stratification and Reduction through Breast Imaging and Genetic Testing" will be held Thursday, November 19th at noon CST. Detailed information can be found on the attached flyer. The program is free, but registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Continuing education credits will be available for those participating in the live session. The session

We'll be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide observance encouraging communities and schools to support young people in making healthy, drug-free choices. We invite everyone to join in the fun by wearing RED to show your support!
We have two great presentations planned for this month's meeting:
Finney County Sales Tax Continuation: Finney County staff will share information about the sales tax continuation measure appearing on the November 3 ballot.
Worksite Walking Trails: Beth Koksal will highlight upcoming LHEAT efforts to partner with local employers to create walking trails at worksites, making it easier for employees to incorporate physical activity into their day.
